Its time to set up the season opener for the Indianapolis Colts and the Houston Texans as the AFC South division rivals meet on Sunday at Reliant Stadium but the big thing is Manning is OUT.
This National Football League Betting matchup starts at 1 pm ET and can be seen on local CBS stations.
If the Colts ever wondered what would happened without four-time NFL MVP Peyton Manning is not in the lineup, they’ve already find out in the sense they are a huge underdog in their season opener.
Houston has been all the way up to 9-point favorites and moved from a -220 moneyline fave to -400 at many sportsbooks. The over/under total has come all the way from its opening of 47 down to 43.

But it’s never a bad idea for NFL ODDS and those who are die hard Colts Betting fans to take the over when the Colts and Texans clash, even without Manning in the lineup. Three big over trends in the head-to-head series sees the over has hit in 10 of the past 12 meetings overall, in 11 of the past 13 games in September, and in all five of the past five overall.

Indianapolis is a solid 8-2 straight up but just 4-6 against the spread in the past 10 meetings, and is 16-2 SU in its last 18 games against Houston. The teams split their two meetings last year, Indy winning the last game 30-17 and covering as a 5.5-point home favorite, and losing the opener 34-24 and failing to cover as a 1.5-point home underdog.
And for the first time in years, the Colts enter the NFL season lower than their division rival in the NFL Power Rankings, as the Texans are rated at No. 17 and the Colts No. 19.
The total has gone over in five of Indianapolis's last five games on the road, and in four of Houston’s last five at home.
