Mariner Energy has added on to the pain with a gulf oil explosion with no leaking and all 13 workers on the rig being safe but the stock symbol: ME had its volume surge from trading 4,000 shares in the 5 minute bar previous to the announcement to over 1,000,000 shares to over 3,750,000 shares in the next 10 minutes. So news explodes volume on a quiet stock as it dropped and than popped back up.
