Words of Wisdom

"If I were to offer you $1million to jump out of an airplane without a parachute would you take me up on the offer?

Most people answer with a definitive "NO!"
What if I told you the plane was a Piper Cub sitting still on the runway…then would you accept my offer? Of course you would!

What would make the difference in your answer? Obviously in the first scenario you would die and in the second you wouldn’t. Why do people respond that way? Because they ASSUME in the first scenario the plane is flying high in the sky and to leave the plane without a parachute would mean certain death. Although there is one case in the army of an individual who landed in the trees and survived. However, look back at the initial offer…did it say the plane was in the air? No..it was assumed. If that had been a real offer you would have lost $1 million dollars due to a faulty assumption.

What was needed to avoid this mistake? You simply needed more details before you made a decision. In this case, one simple question, "Is the plane in the air?" would have changed your decision. Often we allow our fears and emotions to affect our decision making process."

So lets work together and build a stronger infrastructure and think 3 dimensionally.

This is the best words of wisdom I have heard in a long, long time. To make the right decisions, get your smart side out, be level-headed and have the right presence of mind. Three things that may seem like they are one and the same when in fact they aren't. Great post.
